FOUNDER AND MISSION STATEMENT:
My own personal journey of work/life balance, mind-body connection, and curious and compassionate engagement with the world has fueled me to seek new opportunities to develop and grow. This helps me find a deep sense of meaning and purpose in my own life. I thoroughly enjoy supporting others in their growth experiences and have brought together practitioners who focus on positive change.
My interest in forensic psychology derives from my desire to ensure that people are treated justly and that everyone has the same opportunities. To me, justice emphasizes logic and weighing principles to determine moral rights and responsibilities. It also includes care reasoning which involves empathy and compassion; the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. I want to know that my work and expertise is helping make a positive difference in the world. Not many practitioners feel comfortable working within the legal system; therefore, I have brought together clinicians, and partner with other professionals, who provide people with opportunities for respectful conflict resolution.
I also highly value mentoring and coaching, so providing opportunities for students in training, as well as new mental health professionals, who want to get established before making their own way in the world is an important component of my practice.
Everyone is different and needs an individualized therapy or counseling approach. At KKJ, we focus on the specific problems that affect your daily life, using well-known, evidence-based techniques. While techniques are important, authenticity, warmth, and empathy are integral for people to flourish in, and outside of, counseling. You are a whole person—mind, body, spirit - with strengths, and weaknesses.
Let us help you form a stronger family, decrease stress, enhance your relationships, find meaning in your life, and realize overall greater health and well-being.
