Michelle Chasen, MA

Being able to walk alongside individuals as they make self-discoveries, heal, and grow is one of my greatest passions. I say “walk alongside” because I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you feel safe, understood, and our shared insights light the way. It is my belief that in knowing ourselves, our wants and needs, we are able to make choices that enhance, enlighten, and empower our lives.

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Drexel University with a special emphasis on clinical psychology.  I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina.

I am passionate about working with a population of culturally diverse individuals including children, adolescents, and adults. My clinical experience includes working with those who are facing challenging times due to anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, trauma, grief and loss, co-parenting, and relational issues. My theoretical approach is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, as well as utilizing an integrative, holistic approach to emotional health and wellbeing. I conduct the co-parenting workshop at KKJ. I also see individuals for co-parenting counseling and couples counseling.

I am a native of South Florida and have made Chapel Hill, North Carolina my home. I enjoy the change of seasons, and in my free time I like going on nature trails, cycling, Pilates, and yoga. I love spending time with my husband, our son, and our pampered pup Charlie.
