Lisa Foss, MA

Are you experiencing difficulty coping with anxiety, depression, or life stressors? Perhaps you’re experiencing challenges in your relationship or work, or going through infertility, or parenting/co-parenting stress. If so, you’re not alone! Life is challenging, but if you find yourself out of balance or overwhelmed, you do not have to navigate those challenges alone. It is crucial to address all parts of your human experience, including mental and physical health, emotional wellness, and spiritual well-being. By better understanding and identifying where there may be an imbalance, you can then work towards creating balance. With a sincere and practical approach, we can work together to alleviate your struggles and develop coping skills to continue to support your overall health and wellness.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate in North Carolina. As a mental health professional, I have completed trainings to continue my growth and development as a therapist including Co-parenting in High-Conflict Families, Collaborative Divorce, Perinatal Mood Disorders, trauma, play therapy, mindfulness, yoga, and nutrition.

I am currently only providing therapy via telehealth. My services include individual, co-parenting, and family therapy utilizing techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means we will spend time examining your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We will work to create better harmony in your life. We will discuss how to apply mindfulness and awareness as coping skills to tolerate distress and regulate your emotions. If you are interested in exploring spiritual or faith-based counseling, please let me know so we can discuss this further at intake.

As the Evaluation Coordinator at KKJ, if you have any questions regarding any evaluation services, please email me at lisa@kkjpsych.com.

From Lisa:
"I view life as a process of learning and adaptation. Life brings unexpected challenges that require some flexibility to navigate, but sometimes adjustments are difficult to manage. Gaining support and learning new skills can help us find our balance again. I find that to maintain my balance I need to take time each day, even if it is a few moments, in spiritual introspection and reading. I also find that my emotional well-being is always improved with exercise, even if it is just going for a walk with my family."
